In 1927 my ancestors came to Paraguay into the Wilderness to create a Home for their children. They created Houses and Barns for themselves, many of which still stand today.
In Memory of their efforts I made this Barn that is modeled after the original designs that they had. In 1927 they entered the Wilderness with Horses and Wagons and they had to dig Wells by Hand to be able to get the necessary drinking Water. That’s why I put in the little Wagon and the Well in remembrance.
It is a fun little Woodworking project which can be made in a weekend. It is a real rustic design since the originals aren’t made with smooth boards either. This is the perfect DIY project if you have some scrap pieces of wood that can’t be used for anything else.
It’s also a nice gift idea for Kids. Its light weight but still strong. I enjoyed making it for an upcoming Arts and Craft Show that is being held in my Hometown for the 95th Anniversary of the Colony Menno.
