Newborough Forest Parkrun - Hyperlapse - 3mins - 30.08.25

Newborough parkrun in Anglesey, is an absolute belter…this one's a proper must-do.

The location is brilliant. You're in a stunning forest right by the sea, with views of Snowdonia in the distance. It’s got a proper feeling of getting away from it all, just you, the trees, and a few hundred other runners. It's awesome.

The course itself is a single-lap beauty, which is mint. No boring laps going over the same ground. It's a mix of trail, gravel, and a bit of sand near the start, and it keeps you on your toes. There are a couple of cheeky undulations – a bit of an uphill climb (angina hill) in the forest to get your legs working, but then a lovely downhill section to bring you home. It's not the flattest, but that's what makes it interesting.

The main car park near is the beach and more importantly the start of the parkrun. It’s free up until 11am for us parkrunners and there’s loads of spaces to park. That said it is a very popular parkrun, so there early just in case.

Facilities-wise, There are toilets in the car park, which is a winner. And people have said there's a mobile catering van or a café on site, so you can get a cup of tea and a post-run bacon sarnie. The volunteers are dead friendly and a bit of a laugh, which always makes a parkrun so much better.

Newborough parkrun is a top-tier event. The scenery is brilliant, the course is a good bit of fun, and the atmosphere is mint. Get yourself over there, you won't regret it.
