Hey everyone! Here is a sound test of the GMMK Pro I built for a friend on a livestream (July 25th, 2021).
I had to cut the livestream short because I was having some fitting issues with the polycarbonate plate and the Durock v2 stabilizers I was using. All of the modifiers were fine, but the spacebar was not returning up properly. Offline I ended up using a knife and a file to widen the opening on the spacebar cutout as well as the cutout for the rotary encoder knob, and that fortunately solved the issue. It’s frustrating to not be able to use third-party stabilizers without some modifications to the plate, but I’m glad we were able to make it work in the end.
This was a build for a friend who went full GMMK for this build. GMMK Pro keyboard, pre-lubed Glorious Panda switches, and GPBT keycaps, braided cable, etc.
The pre-lubed Glorious Panda switches are actually pretty decent out of the box! They would definitely be a good solution for someone who doesn’t want to deal with the hassle of lubing switches. In my opinion, they’re not as good as doing it yourself because there are some inconsistencies, but overall I think they’re quite good.
GPBT keycaps have a nice feel, but for me personally I’m not a huge fan of the centered legends and the more ‘gamery’ font. I do like the dark ash colorway and black encoder knob on the white ice frame though!

Keycaps - GPBT Keycaps in Black Ash
