The third webinar in the CISUTAC Sustainability Forum series explored the latest EU policy developments shaping textile circularity. As the European Union accelerated its transition toward a circular economy, several key regulatory initiatives were presented as drivers of major changes in how textiles are designed, produced, and managed throughout their lifecycle.
Ekaterina Stoyanova from EURATEX offered an up-to-date overview and discussion of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), the revision of the Waste Framework Directive and the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), the development of End-of-Waste criteria, the forthcoming Circular Economy Act, and the Green Claims Directive together with the Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR) for Apparel and Footwear.
