Dr. Meghan McGarry, Pediatric Pulmonologist and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital, explores health disparities in certain groups of people with CF - more severe lung disease, increased risk of pulmonary infections and CF-related diabetes, higher mortality - that are not explained by CFTR genetic severity, age of diagnosis, or socioeconomic status. She discusses what further research and actions are needed to advance care and improve outcomes for all people with CF. This presentation was part of CFRI's 38th National CF Education Conference.
CFRI's 38th National CF Education Conference was sponsored by Vertex Pharmaceuticals, AbbVie, ReCode Therapeutics, Viatris, and the Boomer Esiason Foundation.
