During the Vietnam war, a strong bond was formed between various nations coming together to fight for a common cause. Although these relations were sometimes strained during tough times, they were never broken. Perhaps the strongest friendship and cooperation partnership formed was between the Australian forces and the United States Army, Navy, and Air Force, who regularly supported one another. Despite not being the United States biggest partner in terms of man power (that honor went to South Korea, which sent 300,000 troops) the Aussies and the Yanks held a strong friendship which lasted until the US left South Vietnam. Soldiers from many other nations also formed similar bonds, including troops from New Zealand, South Korea, South Vietnam (ARVN), Thailand, and the Philippines.
