EP 96 Christina Aguilera - Fighter

"Fighter" is a song written by Christina Aguilera and Scott Storch which was released as the third single from her Stripped album (2002). The song features Dave Navarro on guitar.

I prepared the backing track using Moises.ai to remove the bass and this was then exported into Reason. I played my "mutt" Stingray bass (OLP Stingray body with a G&L L2000 tribute neck and an EMG MMCS active pickup) using fingerstyle and recorded directly into my interface (Steinberg UR44C).

The intro and bridge parts were processed with compression and chorus for a clean, thick tone. The main bass tone was created by running the track through the TSE Audio BOD plugin using quick heavy distortion but blending a clean tone in for a slightly grungier sound than the original part.

The footage was filmed using a Samsung A52 smartphone. The onscreen tab was created by synching the Guitar Pro file with the audio track using Go PlayAlong 4 and capturing the result using NCH Debut. I then added the titles and edited everything together using DaVinci Resolve 17.
