Welcome to today's video review about a very special knife called Viper Magà. This knife was introduced a couple of months ago, this year 2014 at Shot Show and IWA in Germany. It made quite a stir among fans of Viper and also general community of people who like knife; like myself for instance. This was mainly because it has really special design; it is unique on the market. When it is folded you do not even see why it is so special. But when it is unfolded, then you can see that the blade is something really unique. I think that at the moment there are not many knives out there that would be so special.

This knife is made in Maniago in Italy, a city, where Tecnocut is based and where all Viper knives are made. It comes in a same box like other Viper knives. It also comes with the same instruction sheet in Italian and English like all other Viper knives. You also some basic guidelines for proper use, some guidelines for care and maintenance and also couple of word about precaution and about injury. It also carries warranty information. And what is also important it comes with information about Maniago quality. Why you can expect high quality from this knife, because it was made in Maniago.

The designer of this knife is Boris Manasherov. He is a martial arts instructor in Israeli army and the name of martial art is Krav Magà. This is the first knife, which was designed by Boris for Viper; in collaboration with Viper. As you can see it is foldable and enables one-hand opening. The opening is really simple, very similar to thumb-stud opening. Except that it does not have a thumb-stud, but it has five grooves here at this part. The other option for one-hand opening is also like this. And this is possible, because they use bearings inside of this axis and not bronze washers like for other knives. This opening and closing is really smooth and you immediately feel this high quality of the knife.

Locking is simple with a traditional liner lock efficient and also nice. Efficient, simple and nice. If we say a couple words about the blade you can see that there are really a lot of concave edges like here then the first part of the blade here on the spine of the blade. You also get serrated edge on the inner part and then the plain edge on the outer part. The blade is really massive, is about 4mm thick and has a really unique design. You can also see here, that the last part of the blade prevents, similar as cross guard, that your hand cannot slip on the blade. The blade is made of Bohler N690 stainless steel, and this is valid for all finishes. This one has a stone-washed finish but you can also get a PVD coated finish and a satin finish. In all cases the material is the same, made by Austrian company Bohler and it is a high quality steel.

The knife is 21.0 cm long when it is open. And it has a blade of roughly 9.5 cm length. It weight about 150 grams. It depends; it can be a little bit lighter if you use Carbon for handle material 145 grams or it can be a little bit heavier if you, 160 grams, if you used wood for the handle material.

The handle can come in 4 different materials, like carbon fiber it can come as Micarta, you can see it here. Or it can be made of wood, currently there is one option for wood; it is natural cocobolo wood; or the handle can be made of G10 brown or orange composite material. The handle also has a couple of additional features as you can see it has a sling hole, it has a belt clip. The belt clip is made of stainless steel AISI 420 stainless steel and the same material is also used for liners, spacers and for all screws. This knife is made for rough situations in outdoor or tactical use. All these steel 420 is also tempered.

If we make a short summary; this was a video review about the new Viper Maga knife, as you can see it really has a distinct design, especially the blade is very different from other knives. It is really a high quality product. It has a special opening system with bearings, not normal washers. For someone who is looking for really special knife, for something different and beautiful at the same time I thing this knife would definitely be a good option. Thank you for watching.
