Employee compensation act 1923 part 2

The Employees' Compensation Act, 1923 (formerly the Workmen's Compensation Act) provides financial protection to workmen or their dependents if an accident at work results in death or disablement. The Act covers injuries caused by accidents arising out of and in the course of employment and also provides for compensation for certain occupational diseases. The amount of compensation depends on the employee's wages and age, and the compensation must be paid through a Commissioner appointed under the Act, except for certain advances an employer can make to dependents.
