Day in the Life on Our Busy Homestead | Harvesting, Canning, Sourdough

"There’s never a dull moment on the homestead! In today’s video I’m sharing a full day in the life here at 6 Hearts on 6 Acres. After dropping the kids off at school, I came home to feed the chickens, harvest corn from the garden, and check on the pantry. I labeled jars of bourbon chicken and beef broth before jumping into some kitchen work, including cleaning up and prepping meals for my Homesteader’s Fast Food series.

Later in the day I shucked and preserved corn using my Wevac chamber vacuum sealer, gathered eggs, and got some sourdough going—including a pumpkin spice loaf (with homemade pumpkin spice!) and a classic round for the week. I also straightened up my spice cabinet, which had gotten way out of control. Corey even installed a brand-new faucet in our kitchen, which made dinnertime a breeze when I cooked bourbon chicken and hibachi noodles. We ended the evening together, cleaning up the kitchen and shaping my sourdough for the next day’s bake.
