They are doing normal lives after the transplants. The longest surviving recipient has completed 24 years after the transplant. The organ recipients are doing every thing that a normal human being does - start companies, travel extensively, live a healthy life, win medals at Transplant games.
At the same time the book highlights the problems the recipients face. Humongous cost of the transplant and after care, paucity of donors, organ rejection issues, need to depend on immuno-suppressants for their entire lives.
