Development of Tooth - Part 2 : Early and Late Bell stage of tooth development

The Bell stage of tooth development is further divided into early bell stage and late bell stage.Early bell stage is characterized by histodifferentiation and morphodifferentiation. In histodifferentiation inner enamel epithelium is differentiated to ameloblasts while those of the dental papilla is differentiated to odontoblasts. In morphodifferentiation the crown shape is determined. In late bell stage rootformation and mineralization takes place. The enamel organ is detached from the oral epithelium and HERS is formed.
