My name is Lila. I worked at a small store. I sold food and clothes to people. Gavin was my husband. He worked with cars every day. He was a mechanic at a big shop. We lived in a small house. We had two bedrooms and one bathroom.
Every morning, I made breakfast. Gavin drank his coffee fast. Then we both went to work. I worked from eight to five. Gavin worked from seven to six. Sometimes he worked more hours. His boss needed him to stay late. I came home first every day.
After work, I cooked dinner. Gavin came home tired and dirty. He washed his hands and face. Then we ate together at our table. But we did not talk much. We were busy. We were tired. On Tuesday nights, Gavin watched baseball on TV. He sat in his big chair. He drank beer and ate chips. I sat on the sofa. I looked at my phone. Sometimes I went to bed early.
