I failed in my last attempt to adjust the clutch on my Datsun 240z, but realized that the slave cylinder that is on the car was longer than the original. So I ordered the correct slave cylinder and installed it. This was a resounding success! The previous slave cylinder was simply too long and didn't allow the adjustment rod enough travel to put the clutch release in the right spot. I now have a good functioning clutch that lets out at a good spot in the clutch pedal travel.
This is the video of my first attempt. It actually contains a bit of "how to" regarding adjusting the slave cylinder.
