In this video we break down the 4 main categories of Dry Fly Floatant: Gel Floatant, Liquid Floatant, Powder Floatant, and Shake or Desiccant type floatant. We then explain when and how to use each type of floatant. Finally, we cut through all of marketing and flash and test which brand of dry fly floatant performs best on the water. The charts shared after each test show the percentage of the fly’s weight in water absorbed over ten minutes. Yea, we admit this is pretty geeky, but we want to ensure that fly fishers (and our customers) have the best products to ensure that every trip to the water is their best trip!
