B-29 Plane Crash Site Hike in the Peak District

B-29 SUPERFORTRESS CRASH SITE

In 1946, Boeing 'RB-29A 44-61999, an American B-29 Superfortress crashed in Bleaklow killing all Thirteen crew members. The plane was flying in low cloud using onboard instruments, the pilots believed they had passed the hills and started to descend. The plane hit the ground at around 11am.
I decided to hike seven miles across boggy ground to pay my respects to the crew.
