Graze The Roof • Plants Vs. Zombies [ Remix ]

And after PvZ's 8-bit mix, I've decided to remix an actual track from the game. Now, I can't say this is my favorite, since, let's be honest, all of them seem to be my favorite; but it is certainly an amazing one.

▾ About this Remix ▾

"Graze the Roof" is the theme which plays during, you guessed it, the roof levels of the game. This is considered the last world/zone. The original theme is calm, but catchy, and, while it doesn't scream "roof", it fits.

With this remix, I did what I usually do: turned it into electro-jazz, by mixing the melody a bit, jazzing it up, adding some swing, and adding all the jazz instruments. This song is divided in four key parts, each one with a different melody and chord progression, though all of them go well together. My remix possesses a lot more parts, obviously, but the base four are there. I changed the base chords here and there to give it the jazzy feel, but, generally speaking, the base parts are unaltered, if we exclude the instruments. The hardest part to pull off was definitely the transitions between the original parts and the sections I added; making it sound fluent was certainly a challenge.

The instruments used are the 8-bit Synth, the Jazz Finger Guitar, the Electric Keyboard, the Acoustic Bass, the Alto Saxophone, the Acoustic Nylon Guitar and the Synth Strings.
