REPLACING STEERING CABLES + FINDNG MORE CRACKS IN HULL!! - Episode 127

This week we replace our old stainless steel steering cables with new dyneema line, which means having to do quite a bit of splicing! As we replace the cable and start to tension it, we find that the hull is actually cracked where the steering cable sheaves are, due to the extreme force on them when the bulkheads cracked and the boat bent out of shape!
SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage to their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are ready to cross the pacific ocean soon!
