More details - https://globecore.com. We present to your attention paint production technology and equipment CLM.
The quality of paint depends on the effective dispersion of all the constituents during the production process. Without proper distribution of constituents, paint will be unable to maintain the color stability and to meet the specified standards. The quality of colored coating directly depends on the optimal dispersion and uniform distribution of particles in the liquid phase.
The paint production process begins with pre-mixing of pigments, a solvent, and a base. In order to prevent agglomeration of particles, dispersants are added to facilitate their uniform distribution, while other additives can be blended in to improve the properties. After that, the constituents are subjected to further grinding until the required particle size is achieved, which ensures the texture uniformity and the color intensity.
In the manufacturing industry, ball mills or high-shear mixers are normally used to grind and disperse particles in the paint production process, but they do not always allow achieving the high quality of pigment grinding and the uniformity of paint texture.
Accordingly, GlobeCore has developed a paint production technology with the use of CLM colloid mills. These mills can be used for pre-mixing systems with a high solids content, for grinding, pre-dispersion, final dispersion of solid particles, and even for grinding of temperature-sensitive paint constituents.
GlobeCore colloid mills operate on the principle of high-speed grinding and mixing. Their design includes a disk-shaped rotor located close to a stator, and an adjustable rotor-to-stator gap that ensures grinding of particles up to 1 micron and their uniform distribution in the liquid phase.
GlobeCore colloid mills offer a number of advantages in the paint production process. These include:
simultaneous dispersion, mixing, and homogenization of the resulting mixture;
high stability of paint composition even when working with heat-sensitive materials due to the availability of an auxiliary cooling system;
the ability to efficiently process low-quality batches of paints with disrupted texture (the presence of сlumps, pigment granules, or sediment);
the ability to adjust the grinding fineness by adjusting the rotor-to-stator gap size;
compact dimensions, easy integration into the existing paint production lines;
wide capacity range — GlobeCore manufactures laboratory models with a capacity of several tens of liters per hour for testing of new paint formulations, as well as industrial models with a capacity of thousands of liters per hour.
