MAWANGA SERIES SEASON 1 EPISODE 1

The TV Series revolves around stories of betrayal, deception and the consequences of trickery and ill-gotten gains.
The stories are distinctly woven into two different scenarios where all the elements of betrayal, deception and the come-uppance of trickery are unveiled.
The first story is about Maria, a young lady who is betrothed to Chimwemwe. However Maria has another boyfriend whose name is Edward and is fondly called “Edo” by his peers. Even though Maria is about to get married she is still seeing Edo. She is confused about choosing between the two. Edo on the other hand is well aware of Maria’s unfaithfulness and he talks to Maria about it comfortably. Things turn upside down when Chimwemwe finally proposes to Maria. Maria eagerly accepts the proposal and goes to show off to Edo that Chimwemwe has finally proposed.
Edo is now hell bent on making sure that he ruins the marriage between Chimwemwe and Maria for he wants Maria all to himself. He succeeds by photo-shopping Chimwemwe’s pictures that he finds on Chimweme’s social media account and merges it with another random girl. The pictures suffice on the morning of Chimwemwe and Maria’s honeymoon. Maria, heartbroken after seeing the pictures, she switches off her phones and goes straight to Edo’s house and they flee and get married within the city. Chimwemwe tries to look for Maria elsewhere, weathering ridicule from his in-laws as they have made it very clear that they want their child since he was the last person to be with Maria. Finally they realize that Maria eloped with Edo and they are staying within the city. Edo is arrested and Maria is left pregnant.
The second story is about Mrs Phiri and Maziko. Mrs Phiri tells her husband that she wants to pick her sisters son in the village so that they should be living with him and that he gets good education. Maziko comes into the picture believing that he is staying with her Aunt only to find out later that Mrs Phiri is not his Aunt but his biological mother.
Two of the supposed Maziko’s biological fathers start showing up at Mr Phiris house claiming ownership of the son. This causes a lot of commotion in Mr Phiri’s house between him and Mrs Phiri and the two alleged Maziko’s fathers. Finally Mr Phiri forgives Mrs Phiri and helps through a Doctor friend of his,that these two men and Maziko go for DNA test to decipher who the true biological father is. After the test all the two alleged fathers their DNAs do not match with Mazikos’. The news shocks everyone and Mrs Phiri faints right away. The story remains a mystery as to who Mazikos biological father is, as Mrs Phiri is now still in the hospital unconscious.
