In this powerful and much-needed talk, Bhante Candana sets the record straight: The Goenka movement is nothing but a cult, promoting not Dhamma but adhamma, lacking in morality and the true message of Lord Buddha’s teaching. Thus, Bhante reminds us how 'Neo-liberal capitalism which Goenka promotes, and mindfulness practice don't and cannot go hand in hand.' After all, there can be NO mindfulness without Sila (virtue).
Here, Bhante gives us a detailed and comprehensive overview of what is fundamentally wrong with the Goenka approach (that is structured over the "Guru" traditions already seen with Rajneesh and others during the past decades), and the many dangers of the widespread phenomenon of the ten-day so called “Vipassana” retreats worldwide.
Bhante also points out S.N. Goenka’s questionable association with the World Economic Forum and their nefarious anti-humanist agendas, including the ongoing efforts at stripping humanity of any sense of morality or ethics.
