A Church has stood on the site of Wivelsfield Parish Church for over 1300 years. The current stone church was built in c1060 by the Saxons. Robert Wood, the church's Verger relates the fascinating story of this church's 1,000 year history. Wivelsfield Church is set in the heart of the Sussex countryside, and in spite of the small size of the community it serves, it's history has been colourful and interesting even involving at one point the King himself.
