Leroy Mokgatle took up ballet at the tender age of eight without fully understanding what it entailed. Leroy attended the Art of Motion school in his hometown of Johannesburg. During these early years he was told that he'd never be tall enough to make it as a principal dancer. Instead of feeling dejected, he used these negative comments to propel himself further. He recently joined the Béjart Ballet in Switzerland where he continues to redefine masculinity.
