John was born with autism and didn’t speak until he was eight years old. For some with autism spectrum disorder, its associated challenges might seem insurmountable, but John never let his obstacles stand in his way. He was determined to shine. Through the support of The Excel Center®, a tuition-free high school for adults operated by @GoodwillIndy, he worked diligently to earn his high school diploma with honors, along with a business certificate. From there, he gained employment at Goodwill where he is thriving.
