Guandong Lee Family Kung Fu 李家教
Lee Gar Kung Fu is said to have started in Fujian in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. Some accounts say on of the ancestors of the Lee Family studied at Southern Shaolin other accounts say that one of the monks was a close friend of the family.
The popularisation of the Lee Family Style really started with Lee Tin Niu 李铁牛(1778-1874) who traveled througout his life mostly through Guandong Province.
The Style later became one of the 5 Major Styles of Guandong Province besides the Choy, Mok, Hung and the Leu Family Kung Fu.
The style itself starts in Beggar Stance like most styles of the period, seems to focus on hard power and short bridges. Their partner forms seems to emphavise some iron body training. Their weapons are typical to Southern Boxing Styles like different kind of poles,iron rulers,double knives.
