Secretary Birds: 150 Days From Egg to Survivor | Part 2

This film continues the 150-day survival journey of a single Secretary Bird nest, filmed from a fixed camera high above the African savanna.

In Part 2, the story moves beyond hatching and focuses on growth, dependence, and separation.

As the chick grows larger, the nest grows smaller.
The parent bird still returns with food — but stays for less time.
Feeding becomes brief.
Distance increases.

In many moments, the adult Secretary Bird is simply too large for the frame.
Only her legs, chest, or beak enter the shot while the chick remains fully visible, standing at the edge of the nest.
The camera never moves. The framing never changes.

There is no music in this film.
Only natural sound — wind across the savanna, insects, distant animals, and the quiet movements inside the nest.

This is not a dramatic story.
It is a slow, observational record of how a place that once protected life gradually stops being enough.

Part 2 captures the final stage before the nest is left behind.
