Manama: Visiting one of Ajman's two exclaves (United Arab Emirates) + Al Dhaid from Sharjah City

So we started our day in Sharjah City at the UAE west coast. Then we took a bus that would go to the east coast but got out earlier and took a taxi to our target destination: (Al) Manama

Manama is an exclave of the Emirate of Ajman. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) consists of seven emirates, of which most have exclaves. The internal borders are completely wacky and the result of historical alliances

Manama is famous under stamp collectors for starting a stamp scheme to get rich quick. More on that in the blog post! It has two forts and one watch tower. We visited during pandemic restrictions, so the museum in one of the forts was closed

From Manama, we made our way to Al Dhaid, which is an inland town part of contiguous Sharjah. There we also visited some historical sites and then we went back to Sharjah City at the coast

As always, these day trips are poorly researched and mostly completely random. We would have hitchhiked between Manama and Al Dhaid and Al Dhaid to Sharjah City if this wasn't illegal during covid
