Israel's destruction of Gaza's healthcare sector explained | MEE LIVE

Israel has bombed the city’s final fully-functioning hospital, and the UN has declared the ‘worst’ humanitarian crisis in Gaza since Israel’s attacks began.

At least three Palestinian patients - including a child being treated for head injuries - were killed in Sunday’s attack at al-Ahli hospital. But the damage to lifesaving infrastructure is hard to quantify.

Three weeks ago we heard from voluntary medic Dr Mohamed Mustafa in Gaza City that hospitals were already struggling to cope, having been starved of supplies and electricity by Israel’s ongoing aid blockade.
