Join us in Akureyri, Iceland 🇮🇸 during our 14-night Norway & Iceland cruise onboard the Sky Princess by Princess Cruises! This was our very first time setting foot in Iceland, and it couldn’t have been more magical. We arrived in the Land of the Midnight Sun, just below the Arctic Circle, where the summer daylight never truly fades — even in the early morning hours! 🌞

It was a cloudy, Seattle-style day with temps in the 50s, but the beauty of Akureyri shined through. We wandered around the charming city with no excursion planned and explored at our own pace. Here’s what we got up to:

What We Did in Akureyri, Iceland
🛍️ Walked the city streets and did some local shopping
🌭 Tried the famous Icelandic hotdogs (and yes, they really are different — and delicious!)
🛒 Visited a local shopping mall & grocery store, compared prices on everyday items, and grabbed some Icelandic chocolate + MrBeast Feastables
🌳 Explored a local park and enjoyed Iceland’s natural beauty
🛳️ Returned to the Sky Princess for sailaway views and spotted whales in the fjord right from our balcony!

Back onboard, we enjoyed sushi for dinner and ended the night on a high note — receiving our official Arctic Circle Crossing certificates from Princess Cruises! Crossing into the Arctic at 2 AM was an unforgettable moment that made this day extra special.
