February 16, 1963 - Faron Young introduces William Bradford Keith to the Grand Ole Opry audience after a performance by Bill Monroe & The Blue Grass Boys at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Keith was in Nashville to visit Earl Scruggs and work on Scruggs' banjo instruction book. He was jamming backstage at the Opry when he was noticed by some of the Opry regulars and took the stage after Faron Young's introduction and played "Sailor's Hornpipe", which was followed by a wild ovation. A month later, on March 16, 1963, Keith made his Opry debut as one of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys. He stayed on with Monroe until December, 1963.
