Australian Steel Association CEO discusses 'new global challenge' for the industry

Australian Steel Association CEO David Buchanan has discussed the issues and implications around the latest US tariff impositions on Australian steel.
“Energy costs is obviously one issue, costs of labour, obviously in comparing to Asia and other regions is a big challenge for the industry,” Mr Buchanan told Sky News Australia
“We are seeing a number of steel mills now progressing through feasibility stages in Brisbane and also in WA, so there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
“We certainly want to see a vibrant and strong steel industry here in Australia.”
Mr Buchanan also examined the "new global challenge" and discussed elements of the US tariff imposition on Australian steel.
