Installing a Quick-release Removable Shaft into Seimitsu LSH-56-01 Joystick
How frequently would you change your joystick top if you could do it quickly without having to open up your controller or using specialised tools?
Transitioning from a beat ’em up to a platformer then to a vertical shooter during a gaming session happens often, but playing different types of games with the same top is not ideal. That’s exactly why I have a quick release removable shaft on my arcade controller – for the convenience of swapping joystick tops on the fly.
Here’s an instructional video I put together which shows the step-by-step process for installing The Link Ex Groove quick-release shaft into the Seimitsu LSH-56-01 joystick. This specific removable shaft fits any “56” joystick variant including the LS-56, the LS-56-01, the LSH-56, and the LSH-56-01.
