Milling Machine ZX7045 DRO on a Budget (TouchDRO Y-axis Implementation)

After purchasing the mill I discovered that Digital Read Out (DRO) is not an option for milling machines and working with backlash was very annoying, delaying and caused lots of inaccuracies.
After research I decided that TouchDRO with cheap imported calipers is the cheapest option, despite finding a lot of concerns on youtube and TouchDRO developer about converting calipers to gauges, I decided to take the challenge as I already own most of the components, so I decided to start with hardest, Y-axis, as proof of concept and whether to continue with the X and Z axes or abandon the idea and buy a complete and expensive option.
The main concerns were that its hard to implement as it is from scratch and increases noise and instability in the measurement.
Here's what I did to minimize the impact of those problems:
1 - I used shielded cable between the caliper head and the controller (Arduino Nano).
2 - Most of the implementations used the common transistor or even resistor dividers as level converter, I used opamps even I went for rail to rail in the actual circuit (different from the schematic) to minimize the noise.
3 - I used Solidworks to design the holding brackets of the gauge and reprinted them several times till the gauge head was moving freely completely parallel to the carriage.
4 - I used a low noise power supply module and linear LDO to supply the controller and the gauges.
5 - I powered the caliper circuit from dual supply and LDO and backup battery in order not to lose the position even on power cut.
One thing I still didn't verify is the longevity of my implementation, I think only time and usage will tell. Finally I will implement the remaining 2 axes and also protection covers from chips.
