Building a Flume With Lumber From My Sawmill In Hopes of Keeping a Creek Out of My Basement Shop

It's been two months since my basement shop flooded worse than ever before. Only now, the first of February, is concrete in the basement walls dry enough that I can fill all the cracks and pinholes with epoxy.
It's not the first time water has come into the basement after sustained, heavy rain, but this was more water from more places after less rain than in past years. Where was all the extra water coming from?
A seasonal creek that flows down the mountain and is piped under the driveway a few yards from the house is different this year. When the rain-fed springs that feed the creek came to life this past autumn, all the water disappeared into the ground over a span of several yards. Not until the creek was roaring full did water make it as far as the driveway. A clue maybe?
If you missed the first flood videos, well, the first videos of this year's basement flood, they're all in the playlist.
