City Centre pop-up skatepark

The Skateboard GB x Subway 'Wolves Street Jam' went off last Saturday, with a skateboard takeover in Wolverhampton City Centre!

We transformed Bell Square into a pop-up skatepark and it was an absolute pleasure to do this alongside Community First Initiative and The City of Wolverhampton Council, with thanks to King Ramps for the mobile skatepark elements.

We were able to introduce the wonderful world of skateboarding to hundreds of local young people and families through free coaching sessions delivered by Let's Go Skate. We also had the incomparable 'K8 The Frog' on hand to show how used skateboards can be transformed into permanent pieces of wall art through the magic of spray paint and stencils.

And we couldn't forget the big local legends of the West Midlands skate scene who turned up, grafted, and showed the public what it's all about, with Chris Emery on filming duties and Bob Sanderson holding it down all day on the mic.

A massive thank you to Jamie at OG Dist for supporting the event with prizes and Breaking GB for delivering workshops for budding break dancers all day.
