Book Review of the Woodpecker Method 2 - Positional Play.
In total, there are approximately 1,000 exercises from the game of world champions.
Five hundred are directly related to the pawn structure, and 500 are related to 'positional rules of thumb'.
I compare this book with Chess Structures by Mauricio Flores Rios and highlight the differences in learning style. In the Woodpecker Method 2 the learning is implicit: you repeat exercises without a direct link to pawn structures or positional rules. The assumption is that after seven repeat cycles, you know what to do in similar positions.
The book Chess Structures has a more traditional approach: pawn structure, plan for White and Black, and model games showing the white or black plan.
