1935 Atlantic featured the strongest landfalling hurricane ever recorded in the basin, The Labor Day Hurricane. The storm made landfall in the Florida Keys with a pressure of 892mb, and then moved up the west coast as a weakening hurricane. Hurricane Six also killed over 2,000 people when it stalled near Cuba and made landfall in Central America.
