Muktinath Temple is one of the highest sacred temples in the world, sitting at an extreme altitude of 3,800 meters (12,467 ft) in Nepal’s Himalayan Mustang region. In this journey, I ride from Lower Mustang to Muktinath, navigating rugged mountain roads, thin air, and ever-changing Himalayan weather to reach this legendary spiritual destination.
Sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists, Muktinath Temple is known as the Temple of Liberation (Moksha). Pilgrims from all over the world travel here to experience the eternal flame, 108 water spouts, and the powerful spiritual energy that surrounds this ancient site.
