About the song:
As soon as I noticed the song was similar to Egg Gate, I immediately thought of reusing the instruments from my Egg Gate remix, and that proved to be useful, although I confused myself getting the snares' pitch right.
The stereo drums at 0:59 aren't samples but FM, that's why I could use two different kinds of drums at once. You may not notice it, but there's a heavy use of square waves throughout the song, they help make the song feel fuller.
About the picture:
Unlike others I've done, I didn't draw anything for this one, only minor edits to already existing graphics, felt like too much of a challenge. Instead, I combined lots of different levels, but mainly Casino Night Zone and Aquatic Ruin Zone, which seemed to me like the most obvious choices. I also used sprites from Wood Zone, which I got from the Sonic 2 long version hack and I'm not sure if they're original or were unused sprites from Sonic 2. I also used a little of Mystic Cave Zone, like the tree trunks and the swinging platform's chains. The background is a combination of Sonic 3's intro sea, Emerald Hill's flowery field, Green Hill's trees, Aquatic Ruin's mountains and Genocide City's moon and clouds from the same Sonic 2 hack, all of them recolored to look like nighttime, and also Casino Night's palace thing. I think combining graphics follows Sonic Forces' intention of bringing back old stuff and making them feel new.
