Independence on another level! Now we're taking our newly developed understanding of subdivisions to another level by beginning to practice playing over an ostinato by the end of this lesson. In this lesson, we're playing a samba, but with several subdivisions (including triplets) overtop. It is going to give the best of us a good stretch when it comes to hearing and playing overlapping rhythms. Tim Buell walks us through this pyramid, again, showing us just how smooth these exercises can sound with practice.
