On 10 June 2020, my dad and I drove to Whittier, AK through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel aka Whittier Tunnel. It is the longest highway tunnel in North America at 2.5 miles (4 km) long.
With only a single track width, cars are only allowed to travel to Whittier on 30th minute of each hour. Conversely, cars leave Whittier on the hour each hour.
This tunnel is the only way into and out of Whittier except for boat which enter it through Passage Canal.
