The 2023 Junior Theatre Festival Europe took place on Saturday 29th April at The ICC in Birmingham.
Shows being presented for adjudication included: Disney's Aladdin Jr, Fame the Musical Jr, Madagascar Jr, Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical Jr, Oliver! Jr, Shrek Jr and more. The workshops were presented by teaching artists from Disney's Aladdin, Les Miserables and Wicked.
At the New Works Showcase Manchester Musical Youth presented extracts from Dot and the Kangaroo Jr with Get Your Wigle On showcasing extracts from Disney's Finding Nemo Jr. Dot and the Kangaroo Jr authors Daniel Mertzlufft and Daniel Stoddart talked about how they created the show and West End star Cassidy Janson joined for a Q&A and special performance.
During the Awards Ceremony Saint Benedict CVA performed 'Fixer Upper' from Disney's Frozen Jr, Carly Mercedes Dyer delighted all with a mini concert and the AllStars brought the house down performing 'I'm a Believer' from Shrek Jr.
