Kali Puja, also known as Shyama Puja, is a Hindu festival dedicated to the worship of Goddess Kali, the fierce and powerful form of Devi. This puja is predominantly celebrated in West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, and other parts of eastern India, and it coincides with Diwali, the festival of lights.

Significance of Kali Puja
Kali represents time, destruction, and the power that eradicates evil and ignorance. She is a symbol of the divine feminine energy (Shakti) and is often depicted as a dark-skinned goddess with a garland of skulls, holding a sword and a severed head, which represents the annihilation of the ego. Kali is also considered a compassionate mother who protects her devotees from harm and grants liberation (moksha).

Rituals of Kali Puja
1. **Preparation**: The ritual begins with cleaning the house and setting up a beautifully decorated altar for the goddess. Offerings like flowers, fruits, sweets, and lamps are placed before the deity.

2. **Invocation (Avahan)**: The priest or the devotee invokes Goddess Kali through chants and mantras, calling her to come and bless the household. Her idol or image is adorned with red hibiscus flowers, which are her favorite.

3. **Offering Prayers**: Devotees offer various items such as rice, turmeric, vermillion, and sweets. The chanting of Kali mantras (such as "Om Krim Kalikayai Namah") and hymns (like the "Kali Chalisa") fills the atmosphere with devotion.

4. **Animal Sacrifices**: In some traditional forms of worship, animal sacrifice was once practiced, but today, it is often replaced by symbolic offerings like pumpkins or sugarcane.

5. **Night Vigil**: Since Kali Puja takes place on the night of the new moon (Amavasya), devotees often stay up throughout the night, lighting lamps and performing more rituals, with bhajans and devotional songs dedicated to the goddess.

6. **Tarpan**: Devotees also perform Tarpan (libations), praying for the souls of their ancestors and seeking protection and blessings from the goddess.

7. **Fireworks**: Like Diwali, Kali Puja is celebrated with fireworks, which add to the festive atmosphere.

Spiritual Meaning
Kali Puja symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, purity over sin, and the power of devotion. Goddess Kali’s fierce appearance is a reminder that to attain spiritual progress, one must eliminate all negative tendencies and egoistic attachments.

বর্তমানে অনেক সনাতনী ভাইবোনেরা নিজের ধর্ম সম্পর্কে না জানার কারণে হীনমন্যতায় ভোগে ও অন্য ধর্মাবলম্বী মানুষের কাছে হেয় প্রতিপন্ন হয় । আমার সমগ্র সনাতনী ভাইবোনেরা এই ভিডিওগুলির মাধ্যমে নিজের ধর্মকে,নিজের দেশকে ও নিজেকে জানতে পারলে আমার এই প্রচেষ্টা সার্থক হবে ।
