Helen Rose (February 2, 1904 -- November 9, 1985) was an American costume designer and clothing designer who spent the bulk of her career with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.. She was the winner of two Academy Awards for costume design The Bad and the Beautiful (1952) and I'll Cry Tomorrow (1955). She is known for, among other things, designing the wedding dress Grace Kelly wore for her wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco. She was also well-known for designing for Elizabeth Taylor in some of her best-known roles Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) and Father of the Bride (1950).
