On the floor - AU Ford Falcon Automatic Transmission Removal.
It's a good idea to have a friend who knows tools to help you. Someone who
can hand you the tools or help you find the tool you were holding 2 minutes
ago and now can't find it. It will save you a lot of time.
My friend has done a few gearbox swaps in his time and was getting tools ready
long before I even asked for them. It was a huge help. Unfortunately he is not able
to stay under the car or work like he could before his accident but just being there
with me was the best help I could have asked for and I appreciate it very much.
If your going to do this job be ready to use at least 9L of transmission fluid.
Lift your car and make sure you have good lighting.
I was quoted by my local mechanic 6hrs $900 labor before adding seals and fluid to the quote.
I said I will do it myself. I really hate this part of the job but didn't think it would take me more
then 3hrs. I ran into a few problems as explained in the video so all up it took me a little over 6hrs.
So I can't see how a mechanic with a lift and gearbox lift would take the same time it took me.
