This is my method for making bowstrings. I'm using fake sinew, which is a shame, but at least it's cheap.
Real sinew works really well, but it's pricey if you buy it as string and it's labour intensive if you buy it raw, it also doesn't like rain. Linen and hemp also work well, they handle rain better, but they don't last as long as sinew.
