Equal Length or Unequal Length Headers on a 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS

This Impreza doesn’t have a Turbo and is too old to try any massive pull, but we can certainly try a new set of headers to go with the new exhaust, right? Dropping in new headers, especially these Tsudo headers, is really straight forward. But – is it a good move? Is the sound better? (It’d definitely different!)

Tools:
• 15mm (or 9/16”) deep socket for the nuts on the exhaust
• 15mm (or 9/16”) wrench to hold nuts on the catalytic converter
• Extensions (I used a 4” and 6” at various times)

Torque: 22.4 ft-lbs (+/- 3.6) (268 in-lbs) for the header nuts and the header/cat bolts.
