Hi it's TINA and TIM and we're still on the topic of child protective services and I think people need to know what does it mean when a safety plan is put into place and whether or not does that happen before removal or prevents the removal of the children from your home so a safety plan will happen prior to removal and what that means is that the conditions in the home the allegations that things that are happening don't rise to a level that warrant or removal at that time however they do rise to a level that there is concern to the safety of the child now that doesn't always mean that the child can't be in the home sometimes we'll put a safety plan in place that says you know while the child is with mom and dad mom and dad are going to lock medications up in this box they're going to keep it on a high shelf and this is what we're going to do so that we don't have any issues going forward during the investigation or it may be something where until the parents mental health gets better or something like that the children can't return home they need to be somewhere else we're not asking for removal we're saying it's the recommendation and the safety plan that well this is going on that the children aren't present we give them an option to kind of work with us it means we're not quite at the removal stage but it could get there so we start to put plans in place to mitigate the safety concerns in the home so what you're saying is if they really don't want the children to be with the parent it's sort of a way of the parent to have control of where their children go so they could potentially say to the caseworker you know what can my children stay with you know my grandparents or the whatever that's absolutely so for example for example a dirty home I’m not going to remove the child but it's not safe in that home for the child so I work with the parents they say they're going to go stay at my you know my brother and sister's house until I can get the house cleaned to a level that the child is safe here and I say okay that's a great safety plan child goes to grandma and grandpa's or aunt uncles I say I’ll be back in 48 hours or 24 hours I come back the house is spotless it's immaculate now all the safety concerns are our remedy child comes home great thanks again TIM and don't forget everyone stay tuned for further videos along with don't forget to like and don't forget to subscribe until next time
