Desert of Lost Souls (with lyrics) - God of War 1 Soundtrack

This song plays in God of War 1 when crossing the giant sword before going to the sewers (not if player goes to Suicide Bluffs first), and after exiting the sewers on the way to the Desert of Lost Souls. It is based on the first part of OST track "The Great Sword Bridge of Athena", itself a version of the Kratos theme used in many songs and cutscenes throughout the game.

Note that the OST version (like all GoW1 OST tracks) does not feature live choir, and is thus of inferior quality compared to the in-game song. This is possibly because the live choir was added very late in the soundtrack production.

God of War 1 lyrics are very simple and only use a few random words, unlike God of War 2 where they are more complex and form meaningful sentences. This song uses words from the Ancient Greek poem "To Ares", one of the "Homeric Hymns".
