There are thousands of Japanese trucks on the roads in Australia, and this popularity is reflected by scores of race car transporters in speedway paddocks Down Under.
While the biggest budget sprintcar teams often have the largest and most powerful Australian, American and European trucks on the market, many teams use Hino, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Fuso and Nissan Diesel/UD Trucks with custom bodies to transport their equipment to the race track.
But it's not just speedway where you'll find Japanese trucks. They're also a popular choice for everything from TCR Australia to sports car racing. Some Repco Supercars Championship teams have signed deals with Japanese manufacturers too, though there aren't any Japan-built prime movers in the paddock in 2021. The IRWIN Racing Hino 800 you'll see at the start of this video was a rental truck while the Mount Waverley team awaited the delivery of their Kenworth T909.
If you're a fan of Japanese trucks, enjoy this compilation! We'll be posting more trucks, transporters and haulers built in Asia shortly.
